There was an urgency to intervene in Cañada Real (Madrid, Spain) creating its first Community centre. Hence, Recetas Urbanas project proposal brought in the experience and the will to support and involve in the upcoming social facilities as many users as possible.

Juan Gabriel Pelegrina has documented self-construction projects in Andalusia since 2014. In 2017, in colaboration with Urban Recipes Architectural Studio, he made a documentary about the construction of a mediation room in Europa School (Dos Hermanas, Seville)as well as other processes of self-construction and improvement of public educational spaces in the city of Seville. He is also a a teacher of art and visual education.
